Samong team environment

Built around the belief that learning takes time

Samong started as a small project to make AI education less rushed. That intention is still at the centre of everything we do.

Our story

Samong was put together in Bangkok by a group of practitioners who had spent several years working with machine learning in different contexts — research, product teams, and independent consulting. What they noticed was a gap: there were plenty of fast-track programmes promising quick results, but very few that took the time to explain things properly.

The name Samong comes from the Thai word สมอง, meaning brain. It felt right for a school centred on how people actually build understanding — carefully, with repetition and practice, not in a hurry.

Today, Samong offers three focused online tracks covering the foundations of machine learning, model deployment and operations, and natural language processing. Each one is designed to be completed at a pace that allows the material to settle, with support available throughout.

Our mission

To give curious people a clear, supported path into AI development — one that respects the time learning actually takes.

Clarity over complexity

We work hard to explain things clearly, without oversimplifying or making the material feel smaller than it is.

Honest communication

We tell learners what a course covers, how long it takes, and what it costs — before they sign up, not after.

Practical over theoretical

Every track includes exercises that apply the concepts. Understanding something on paper is not the same as working with it.

The people behind the courses

A small team with different backgrounds, united by an interest in teaching that actually sticks.

AT

Ariya Thongchai

Lead Instructor, ML Foundations

Spent eight years working with data pipelines and predictive models before moving into education. Believes the best explanations are the ones that come from having made every mistake first.

NK

Nattapong Kraiwan

Instructor, MLOps & Deployment

Has worked on model deployment at a fintech firm and a logistics platform. Teaches the MLOps track with a focus on what actually breaks in production and how to handle it.

PS

Porntip Srisuk

Instructor, Natural Language Processing

Researched Thai language processing before joining Samong. Leads the NLP Projects track, bringing experience in both English and Thai text tasks to the material.

How we maintain quality

A few commitments we hold ourselves to across every course and interaction.

Curriculum reviewed regularly

Course materials are checked and updated to reflect current tools and practices. AI moves quickly; we try to keep up without overreacting to every new release.

Learner data handled carefully

Personal information collected during enrolment is used only for course administration. We do not share it with third parties for commercial purposes.

Honest course descriptions

We write course pages to help people decide, not to impress. Difficulty level, time commitment, and prerequisites are stated plainly.

Feedback taken seriously

Learners are asked how each course went, and we read every response. Changes to materials and support processes often come directly from what people tell us.

Secure learning environment

Course access and account data are protected with standard security measures. We keep things simple and do not collect information we do not need.

Certificates that reflect real work

Completion certificates are issued after the course requirements have been met — not simply after signing up. We want them to mean something.

AI education built for careful learners

The field of AI development has grown quickly, and so has the number of courses offering to teach it. What many of them share is an emphasis on speed — compact syllabuses, condensed timelines, and outcomes that sound more certain than they are.

Samong takes a different view. Machine learning, model deployment, and natural language processing are technical disciplines that take time to absorb. Understanding how a model is trained is different from knowing which library call to use; understanding why a deployed model fails is different from knowing the deployment steps. We try to teach the difference.

Our courses are online and self-paced, which means learners in Bangkok or anywhere else in Thailand can study in a way that fits around work and other commitments. Instructor support is available throughout, and we prefer to answer questions thoroughly rather than quickly.

If you are looking for a place to develop your understanding of AI in a measured, supported way, we are glad to talk about whether Samong is the right fit.
